Blueberries!

We went to the Maple Lane Farm today with some friends to pick blueberries. Here are the kids getting ready to find a spot to start picking.
Zac is not quite sure what we are doing yet, but he loved wearing the bucket around his neck.

Seth picking. At first we were not finding very many ripe ones, and a lot of dead berries. The amounts of rain this summer have really hurt a lot of the crops this year.

Here's One!

Zac looking gor berries! He would pick a berry and shove it right into his mouth. I think he ate at least 30.

A blue flower in the middle of the pussy willows.

We headed up the hill where the berries were ripe and in good number. Zac decided he needed a break. He was very mad when I made him move.

Look at all our blueberries! Seth was trying to make a grumpy face in the picture. You can tell he's being silly.

Another Week of Summer!

It was actually sunny part of this week. So we got to go play outside a lot.
Zac wanted to go to the park really bad. But when we got there all he did was sit. It was somewhat frustrating because I actually remembered the camera, and he wouldn't even go down a slide for me.

Seth played on the swings a lot this time.

At church last Sunday Seth got to plant seeds of faith. The lesson was about how faith is like a seed, it needs lots of nurturing to grow larger and strong. We were very careful to not over water it. When the sun was out (usually lunchtime) we'd set it outside it the sun. And then bring it back in when the clouds came.

This is how it looked on Friday! Seth was so excited to see it growing. I am too!
We also found out that Seth has some asthma. He's had a cough for a couple weeks. We got a referral to an allergist to see if it is allergy related asthma or not. And of course he has an inhaler. Zac is growing another tooth this week. He has been the clingiest cranky baby. We did turn his crib into a toddler bed last weekend. He goes right to sleep, and loves that he can get out of bed on his own. I'm not sure if Ryan likes it because he comes into our room and crawls over Daddy to get to me instead of walking around.

Happy Birthday Ryan!

Thursday was Ryan's birthday. He worked most the day, but when he got home we went to eat dinner at the Olive Garden. Zachary actually sat in his highchair until we were done eating! After dinner we had cake and ice cream with friends. As you can see it has 8 delicious layers!MMMM Death By Chocolate is what Ryan wanted.

I'm not sure why everyone made it into this picture except Seth and Zac. I think that is Seth's fingers at the very bottom.

Opening presents. The one on the left is Eight below. We actually traded it in because I forgot we already owned it. Ooops : )

And finally, Zac's new thing is climbing on the washer and dryer. The "boing boing" is what he calls the washer because sometimes when I do laundry it goes boing boing. I hope everyone has a good week!

Dumptrucks Rock!

I am finally feeling better! We kept busy this week. Ryan signed up for Muay Thai kickboxing. He loves it, but is super sore right now. Seth got to try his first attempt at the nun chucks at karate yesterday. Good thing they are foam, or else he might have a black and blue face. We also went to a Community Block party. They had a bounce house and rock wall for the kids along with food. I should have taken the camera, but didn't even think about it until it was too late.
Zac decided to eat pavement on Thursday. Ok, he actually fell out of the car when Seth opened the door. Doesn't he look so pathetic?
This is one of the boys favorite things to do in the back yard. The use the dumptruck like a sled. Seth pushes it up, and they both ride down. OR they take turns.

Summer's half done : (

I just realized that we have six weeks left until Seth begins kindergarden. Three weeks ago my asthma/allergies decided to kick into high gear making breathing difficult. They put me on meds for a couple weeks, and then last week when I went back with no improvement was given even more. It's frustrating because I want to run and play with the boys outside, and can't. At least Ryan is around this summer to play with them. It's good to see them all bonding. I am getting better slowly, it just doesn't seem fast enough for me.
We made sugar cookies. As you can see all the frosting ended up on Zac's face. He sure loves frosting. So much that he's figured out how to get the can of frosting out of the back of the refridgerater, open it and scoop out a bite with a spoon.
Seth with his belt of stripes that he earned the last couple months in karate. Zac wanted to be in the picture too.

Saturday was belt promotion day! Here is Seth doing the snake combo with classmates.

Here's Seth with his new belt! His sensei put the old one around his neck.

Seth with Sensai Alyssa. She is his favorite instructor. He thinks she's pretty.

This is a game that Zac and Daddy do all the time. We finally recorded it because it's so cute. Zac is saying so many new words. I can't believe how fast he is growing. Have a good week everyone!

Celebrating our Freedom!

We went to Subfest, the a carnival on the base, yesterday for our Fourth of July Fun! We went with some friends, and watched the fireworks on the baseball fields there. The view was excellent!
ac and Seth loved the Pirate ship! Ryan had gone on the zipper ride just before, so the ship really made him queezy.

Here are the boys with their friend Jeremiah.

We let the kids play in the sprinkler earlier during our BBQ. That's Zac with JT and Jeremiah. I didn't get as many pictures as I wanted this time: (
Every holiday we try and teach Seth why we celebrate, so when explaining to him about how we have freedom, and that people have died so we can have it. He cuts me off and says, "Yeah mom, but when do we get to see fireworks!" At least he likes to help put the flag out.

June was a busy month!

This week I started off great getting lots of things done eaven a few extra. Then on Wednesday I woke up with this nasty cough that has pretty much slowed me down, and now I'm behind on everything : (
So I stayed home from church because I would just be coughing in the halls there anyways the whole time, and I thought I'd catch up on the blog for the month! Enjoy!
Say "Cheese!"
Yesterday was Seth's first karate tournament! He was excited and nervous as most of the kids there. Above is Sensei Alissa helping Seth practice.

Here is Seth's performance. He was the very first person up! I think he may have done better if someone else had gone before him, so he could see what it was like. We are proud of him for trying his best!

Here are the four kids in Seth's division. His age group had 4 divisions all with 4 kids.

Hooray for Seth he got fourth place in his division!!!! The tournament is designed to help with self confidence. So technically Seth got last place, but all that matter's is that he got up, tried and did his best.

Here's how the boys fell asleep last night!

This is the sunset that made the biggest rainbow Ryan and I have seen. It's hard to see in the pictures because of the lighting, but it was pretty cool!

The right side of the rainbow.

The Top!

Left side.

How does Zac eat an apple?

By spitting the skin on the floor!

Look at my new haircut!

See how long it was?

Seth, Zac and me in the rope jungle gym at the Dinosour Place! I helped Seth to the top!

See the bushes in the background? That's where Zac decided to run and fall down about a 3 ft drop. Nana alsmost had a heart attack.

Who's that stepping on T-Rex's toes? This volcano erupts every hour. Pretty fun for the kids.

We went to the Mystic Seaport with Ryan's mom and Grandma C. We took many more pictures, but since I'm playing catch up here are just a couple.

That's Seth underneath the boat "being built".

Nana took us out for Chuckie Cheese's! Thanks! We had fun.

Seth playing with Grandma and Zac's in the tractor back there.
